The Torvalds-Simpsons Prize

OBJECTIVE

The Torvalds-Simpsons Prize is an experiment to see if the Open-Source community can influence mainstream media to give our hero, the one and only Linus Torvalds, a cameo appearance on a regular episode of The Simpsons.

REQUIREMENTS

1) The cameo character must look similar to Linus Torvalds.

2) The character must be wearing a tee shirt picturing Tux, the penguin mascot of the Linux Operating System.

3) At Linus Torvalds' discretion, the cameo must be a speaking part and his character's voice in English, Swedish and Finnish must be that of Linus Torvalds himself.

4) The cameo appearance must last at least 15 seconds.

5) The prize shall be paid out after the cameo appearance of Linus Torvalds is broadcast as part of a original, regularly-scheduled, prime-time episode of The Simpsons.

6) The prize will be awarded to the episode writer(s). If the episode has more than one writer, the prize money will be distributed evenly between them.
